The airport banner at the Charlottesville/Albemarle Regional Airport was one of the first pieces to be redesigned with the new S&P Global branding. A highly visible piece was an opportunity to announce the new brand to the Charlottesville audience, the former headquarters of SNL Financial.
Even though the standards were newly developed and still being fine-tuned, we needed to apply them quickly to ensure published pieces coordinated with the announcement of new branding. I developed an all typographic treatment, using the new standards to guide font sizes and the 12-column-grid to dictate text placement. The combination led to an elegant design that clearly communicated the message and was in-line with the new brand of clean, modern, Swiss-inspired focus on essential elements.
